Studio 323
Since 2013, I have operated out of the Graycon building in downtown Calgary. I’ve always joked that my studio is essentially a ‘grubby artist hovel,’ due to the less-than-modern condition of the heritage building that it’s housed in. Its a nice line to use with clients to break the ice over the chipped hardwood floors and walls that don’t go all the way up to the ceiling. I heard that way way back one of the former photographers in here used to also live out of it. So yeah, super boho.
I take a huge amount of pride in this space, especially since 2019 when it has became solely my space - a personal creative sanctum. At times, it feels remnant of the little attic studios from the Golden Era of Paintings that I so often romanticize - minus the skylight.

It takes a lot of gear to run a studio!
