CUBE (2021) is a personal reflection on my early pandemic experience, told through the physicality of dancers in a compressed space - discussing feelings of anxiety, existentialism, and uncertainty. Distorted through use of an ultra wide angle lens. An un-reality developed to look inward.
This project was inspired by a creative collaboration from long before the pandemic; one that quickly became an allegory for how I processed the trauma of simultaneously going out of business and the temporary shuttering of theatres everywhere. A whole identity boxed-in, melancholy & yearning for exploration…
CUBE is the first of my three “Summer 2020 Re-opening” projects. I plan to release the 75+ images from this series as a book later this year.
