Megan

Actor, writer, producer, and all-around really cool person Megan Stephen approached me in mid-2018 to come for this sitting as rumblings about this project made it back to the @ucalgarySCPA. She sat patiently as I messed around with lighting angles to get highlights and texture of her hair just so. So. much. hair. Look at it! 

We laughed about the pitfalls of the local modelling community, our mutual love of 80s cyberpunk aesthetics, and the amazing new generation of women filmmakers. I asked Megan about her university professors that had left the most impact on her, as we had shared several. Upon reflecting, she took a quiet pause, brought her hands to her heart and literally beamed as she recalled a magical moment from class that would stay with her forever. See image 2.

I knew early on documenting her student work that we’d be crossing paths as she moved deeper into the theatre community. The kind of Artist that *literally* moves me. Like, I see your work. I see it and the energy projecting from the stage hits me so intensely that I’m compelled to reach out and be like HI PERSON I THINK YOURE AWESOME WE SHOULD BE FRIENDS AND COLLAB PLEASE DONT THINK IM WEIRD FOR JUST BLURTING THAT OUT IM JUST CREATIVELY EXCITABLE.
