Frequently Asked Questions - Headshots

Here is some information for you ahead of your appointment. If you still have questions, please feel free to email me here.

What should I wear?
Choose clothing that does not pull attention away from your face. Most types of clothing are acceptable for headshots, but it is best to avoid busy patterns, large logos, and to keep jewelry simple. Bring 3-4 shirt/top options, as well as any sweaters or jackets you would like to wear and we will decide together what will work best for your shots. Bare shoulders and tank tops are not recommended.

Do my shoes matter?
Yes! Please plan your shoes accordingly. High heels and lifts, while not appearing in most photos, affect your posture significantly, which definitely shows up.

How should I do my hair?
Hair and facial hair should be styled to your preference. Messy and unkempt looks are perfectly acceptable.

How will I know how to pose?
Poses for your photos will be directed during your session by Tim. Feel free to come with your own ideas in mind, or with example images on your phone, but there is no obligation to do so.

My photo needs to match the rest of my team !
If your marketing team, web designer or agent have specific look requirements for your images, please let us know ahead of time so that we can best accommodate. Tim's extensive headshot experience allows him to look at comparable photos and visually reverse-engineer the lighting that was used, enabling him to match your new headshot to your team's as closely as possible.
