I have a bit of a soft spot for the tropey “when I started this project I didn’t know what it would become.” I’m a big fan of muddling through and am still tickled by just how true it ended up being here. I started by inviting artists that I’d seen or worked with whom resonated with me to sit and chat and be photographed in an intimate studio setting. Finding out just how much artists wanted to open up was only the first step of the journey.

Erin

Erin was one of the very first sessions in this work. She possesses the type of heart such that while in the midst of personal catastrophe, still made it part of her mission to continue check in on me and others regularly. She’s a gifted actor, a generous scene partner, and among the most stubbornly perseverant  people that I’ve ever known.
